Where traditional glue guns reach their limits in terms of precision, Stylex approaches hot glue application differently, by offering a pencil-like grip. It is designed for detailed work and is suitable for both experienced makers and children or adults.

Communicate.
As a designer, sketching is an essential communication tool to express ideas. For this project, wire routing optimization, glue integration, and ergonomics were crucial aspects to consider and through sketching, I was able to bring them to life.

Following my ideation phase, I focused on ergonomics to evaluate the comfort and usability of each concept. Here is an example of one of my foam mock-ups:
Technical analysis.
Following the ideation phase, I studied the interior of a reference product to design a mechanism that extrudes glue with precision. This analysis allowed me to tackle a technical challenge, illustrated in the quick animation shown below.
From analysis to 3D modeling.
Next, I moved on to the modeling phase. This step made it possible to bring the ideas to life and refine the internal proportions, facilitating the evaluation of ergonomics and technical feasibility. Through this stage, I was able to identify the necessary adjustments to the internal components before proceeding to the prototype phase.
