Hi, I'm Jaime.
Who am I.
I was born in Chile, but I live in Montreal since I'm 2. Since a kid, I would always draw. The Simpsons, Nintendo characters... I was always drawing something. Now that I'm older, I'm the same. I always like learning something new that applies creativity.
Why I design.
I started designing levels in Super Mario Maker when I was 13, in my Wii. I loved spending hours on iterating and thinking of new ideas.
I decided to dedicate my life to design because I loved it since forever. And I believe that great work happens when you love doing it.
What I do.
I graduate from Industrial Design in the school of Cégep du Vieux-Montréal. Now, I'm specializing myself in UX Design at ETS (École des Technologies Supérieur). I have proven experience in multiple softwares, like Illustrator, SolidWorks, Figma, Photoshop.
Challenging myself.
In 2024, me and my team received a scholarship prize by the Minister of Economy, Innovation and Energy, during the Odyssé de l'Objet en 48h.
I participated in this challenge, because I wanted to challenge myself to do something I have never done before.
Outside design.
During the pandemic, I picked up the guitar for the first time. In 2024, I received the RIASQ prize during the Cégep en Specatacle, for my musical performance.
I have always been in love with music, and learning an instrument has shaped me into the person I am today.
Best presentation.
In my first year of Industrial Design in 2022, I received a prize from BeOneBreed for the quality of my presentation.
I was honored to receive this recognition, and it motivated me to exceed expectations in visual communication.
